I saw Thomas Friedman yesterdat

I also finished reading his book, the 3.0 version. It doesn't address the economic meltdown at all, which is really disappointing, but I am mulling over the lecture and the book. I really want to find web-based free/open source project management tools.

I sold a piece of my art!

I framed the $5 I was paid and hung it in the kitchen. I think my head is going to explode I am so bizarrely happy.

This package was not delivered by Tom Hanks

FedEx knocked on my door, left a package and ran off. I was excited. A present, and a large box at that. I checked the packing slip to see who sent me a gift and realized it was sent to the correct address, but has someone else's name on it. I have never heard of this person. I called the company that shipped it; it was the boss' brother who was supposed to get the package. The receptionist was kind of a dingbat and she told me that the brother will probably give me something when he comes to pick it up. Nice, but not her place to say. She also started a sidebar with the boss while I was on the line without saying "just a minute" or "excuse me".

I am rather bummed I did not get a large package today.

Group Project: oh, yeah, it's bad

I'm in a group of 4 students. Our class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays. One student didn't come to class on Thursday and has not responded to any emails, nor has she performed any of the tasks required. (I sent out a summary of decisions and action items when we met in class on Thursday.)

We have a letter that our "group" was supposed to write due in the morning. The agreed-upon process: We would start with one student's draft, forwarding and editing without using Track Changes. The original draft went out via email on Thursday. It is now Monday night and no one has forwarded an updated version to me.
