I also finished reading his book, the 3.0 version. It doesn't address the economic meltdown at all, which is really disappointing, but I am mulling over the lecture and the book. I really want to find web-based free/open source project management tools.

Group Project: oh, yeah, it's bad
I'm in a group of 4 students. Our class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays. One student didn't come to class on Thursday and has not responded to any emails, nor has she performed any of the tasks required. (I sent out a summary of decisions and action items when we met in class on Thursday.)
We have a letter that our "group" was supposed to write due in the morning. The agreed-upon process: We would start with one student's draft, forwarding and editing without using Track Changes. The original draft went out via email on Thursday. It is now Monday night and no one has forwarded an updated version to me.

Free Stuff on Craigslist
I posted a ton of free stuff today, telling everyone to come on Saturday between 1:30 and 2:30. One guy I made arrangements with to come tonight. He called me from his cell phone to tell me that he was out front. What did he expect, that I was going to put my shoes on and go to deliver to his car? I should have said, "Great, then it's not that far for you to walk up and knock on my door!" Next time, that's the plan.

Music in Grocery Store Did Not Suck!
There I am, in Fred Meyer, riffling through the shirts, and I realized something: the music is not oppressing me.It took a minute, but then I realized it was Robbie Williams' "Angels". Not my favorite of his work, but a decent thing to hear while buying bras and a trowel. What makes this so strange is that this is the first time I have heard his music played in public in America. I thought the entire nation was ignorant to the charms of Mr. Williams. Someone at the agency that supplies Freddies with their music is on board.
This makes up (somewhat) for the relentless modern soul at Walgreen's yesterday. It was set off by the beeping of the cash register (which the clerk did not address).
Much better day for leaving the house!

On Thursday I gave Ludmilla an overdose of kitty valium. I've been working my way up with her, giving her more and more, and it doesn't seem to have the desired effect. We were going to the groomers (all of us, Sabrina, Ludmilla and I) and I wanted Ludmilla to be calm enough to get groomed. She had a negative reaction and when I called from school to check on her they told me to pick her up right away. So I missed school. I took Ludmilla to the vet and they observed her for the rest of the day. The vet was unable to get a blood pressure because she would sleep and when the took her out of her cage she would rage on them. This behavior also occurred at the groomer, who was unable to clip her nails. That was the whole reason for the visit! Aaaarrgghh!Ludmilla came home at the end of the day, slept it off, and is back to her badass self.
